Bacon large scale plan of Cambridge from about 1900
This is not an Ordnance Survey map but is a typical example of
a map cover from commercial publishers who used the Ordnanec Survey
name to help sell their products. It is often difficult to date
non Ordnance Survey maps as they often not have any printed dates
and indeed this Bacon map has
no dates at all.
Notice
the intended users of this map. A couple out for a ride (walking
and talking here) in the country but so things do not get out
of hand they are well separated by their trusty Rover Cycles.
